And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. (Matt 24:6-8)
We live in the "storm zone" of the last week. My few pictures are on "not my" camera, but let me assure you, it was DARK, WINDY, SCARY, AND WET. I am not really fearful in storms, but these came a little closer than usual, as in I saw a funnel cloud being formed and watched it zoom off to the north.
It was a interesting, but then I am glad I could watch it move away.
We did have some areas destroyed close to us and I am thankful for all the help they are receiving. I pray these storms will cause some to think of where they are headed after this life and turn to Christ for salvation.
One thing these storms, (and earthquakes, and wars, and rumors of wars) have done is cause my children and myself to think more on heaven. Christ's return. On the pull of the here and now verses the pull of heavenly things. And I am thankful for that. We are SUCKED into house decorating, clothes shopping, book collecting, toy buying, garage saleing, party throwing, and I am glad God sends reminders our way to bring us back to reality. These "things", "events", "daily activities" are only temporary, as fleeting as the dew on the grass. Our "real" life is only a few years away, and will be for eternity. May we think of thoughts, actions, attitudes that need to change so our lives can reflect where we are going, not where we are now.
thanks for reading,

Amen, daughter. A great post and a great reminder of what's really important and what's really REAL. I love you.
